Sorel x Nordstrom Multi-Channel Programmatic Campaign

Client Overview:
Nordstrom, Inc., an iconic American luxury department store chain, was established in 1901 by visionary founders John W. Nordstrom and Carl F. Wallin. With its headquarters in Seattle, Washington, the brand's roots trace back to its inception as a specialized shoe store named Wallin & Nordstrom. The pioneering spirit led to further expansion, including the opening of a second Nordstrom's shoe store in 1923.

Design Challenge:
As a Senior Creative Strategist at StackAdapt, I collaborated with Nordstrom to propel their programmatic campaign spotlighting the new Sorel summer collection. The challenge was to craft a creative strategy that would capture the essence of the collection and effectively engage the target audience. This venture aimed to leverage a holistic multi-channel approach across various stages of the consumer journey.

Design Solution:
To respond to Nordstrom's request for proposal, I embarked on crafting a comprehensive creative strategy. Guided by the aspiration to optimally showcase the Sorel summer collection, the strategy was thoughtfully divided into three distinct funnel stages, each meticulously aligned with audience mindsets.

For the upper funnel awareness phase, the strategy encompassed deploying Connected TV (CTV) and native ads. This strategic approach was designed to captivate audience attention while showcasing the breadth of the product range. Transitioning to the mid-funnel engagement stage, the spotlight shifted to retargeting. Carousel and in-banner display ads were proposed, positioned strategically based on CTV views and native ad interactions, ensuring a personalized engagement strategy.

The lower funnel conversion phase introduced dynamic creative retargeting. This innovative approach aimed to nudge potential customers towards conversion by displaying the last product they explored on Nordstrom's website, adding a personalized touch to the journey.

Outcome and Impact:
The comprehensive creative strategy, meticulously crafted and seamlessly aligned with Nordstrom's goals, resonated profoundly. The campaign's success was evidenced not only by achieving its intended objectives but also by paving the way for extended collaboration. The partnership flourished as our team continued to deliver innovative solutions, further solidifying the bond with the brand.
